    Do you want to learn more about PharmD career opportunities? Join our next virtual monthly meeting to hear from Dr. JR Flores, Drug Education Coordinator from Kaiser Permanente, as he discusses non-traditional pharmacy careers and other opportunities available at Kaiser Permanente. The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app Pre-Pharmacy Club hosts regular meetings that connect students with College of Pharmacy faculty, current students, and guest speakers from diverse pharmacy career paths. The Buddy Program also pairs interested individuals with a pharmacy student mentor for academic and career guidance. We hope you’ll get involved!

    Join us for a Zoom presentation on the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app COMP and COMP-Northwest curriculum. Dr. Talbot, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, will speak on the systems based approach used during the first two years of medical school, along with information on Interprofessional Education, Service Learning and more. Next, Dr. Cook, Director of Clinical Education, will speak on the clinical third and fourth year rotations and the pathway on to residency. The faculty presenters will be joined by medical students who will share their insights and experiences, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

    Prospective students and accepted students are invited to join Paul Aversano, DO and Neurologist. He’ll be talking about medicine, what it’s like to be a physician, and how to think and correlate with case presentations. Dr. Paul Aversano graduated Des Moines University with a DO degree and then completed his residency in neurology at the Cleveland Clinic Hospitals. He practiced neurology in Portland, OR. for 25 years while also teaching and mentoring °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app grads from its inception in 1978. He was part of the founding faculty of COMP-Northwest, and though retired often participates in clinical discussions with the Student Interest Group in Neurology and lectures in the Foundations of Medicine (FOM) 8 course in the COMP/COMP-Northwest curriculum.

    Prospective students, accepted students into the DO2029 class, and their guests are invited to visit °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app COMP-Northwest in Lebanon, Oregon for this half-day event. This on-site event will showcase a number of activities from our hands on curriculum, a med student panel, the option of a general tour of the school and includes lunch and snacks. Accepted students will spend the day together getting know some of their future cohort. Rotating sessions will include sessions like: Stitching and Suturing, Ultrasound Demo, Actor Patient Communication, SIM Lab, OMM Demo & Anatomy Lab. Check-in will take place from 9am-9:30am, and the event will conclude between 1-2pm.     Please join WEDO at COMP-Northwest on Zoom for a mock session of multiple miniature interviews. This is great practice as you go through several MMI rounds with current medical students and receive feedback on your interview skills!
