  • Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)

    The prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses is of paramount importance at Western

    conforming to the best practices of organizations in our industry. Our objective is a health and
    safety program that will reduce injuries and illnesses and surpass the best experience of other
    operations similar to ours.

    Our Injury and Illness Prevention Program will emphasize injury and illness prevention on

    • Fatalities
    • Hazardous material spills

    Serious Injuries or Fatalities

    Supervisors and/or Campus Security must contact Risk Management and EH&S as soon as possible to report work related death, serious injury, or illness.

    OSHA defines an injury or illness as 鈥渟erious鈥 if it:

    • Requires inpatient hospitalization for a period in excess of 24 hours for other than medical observation
    • An employee suffers a loss of any member of the body
    • An employee suffers any serious degree of permanent disfigurement

    There are no reprisals or other job discrimination for expressing any concern, comment, suggestion or complaint about a health and safety related matter.
